Invocation
We hold each other,
And we are praying that we’ll still be in each other’s
thoughts when summer is over.
Our Gods have different names,
But our prayers mean the same thing.
I’m begging Him,
That when you’re gone,
The memories won’t leave with you.
You’re pleading with Him,
That although I’ll still be here,
I won’t forget you when you reach your destination.
We are negotiating with our Gods,
That leaving one another’s side will leave us with
something.
Leave us with a lesson on what it means to really
swim in love.
Leave us with softer, kinder hearts.
Leave us with a growing experience.
Leave us with something.
Something more than just an exit stage left.
Because you just leaving isn’t good enough.
It doesn’t make sense.
